Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Bontr ("we", "us") helps groups of friends plan trips together. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
1. What we collect
- Account data — email, display name, avatar URL, sign-in method (email/password or Google).
- Trip content — trips, tasks, stops, expenses, activities, shopping items, calendar events, photos, and comments you create.
- Location data — optional, only when you tap to add a photo or stop and only for the duration of the action.
- Usage data — anonymous logs (errors, performance) to keep the app working.
2. How we use it
- To provide the trip-planning features you and your crew use.
- To send transactional emails (invites, reminders, account changes). Marketing email is opt-in.
- To keep your data safe (backups, abuse prevention, rate limiting).
3. Sharing
Trip content is visible only to members of that trip. We do not sell personal data. We share data only with the infrastructure providers we depend on (database, email, maps) to operate Bontr.
4. Your rights
You can export your trip data (JSON or PDF) at any time from the trip page, leave a trip, delete a trip you own, or delete your entire account from Account settings.
5. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising trackers.
